Wow, Easter really snuck up on me this year!  On Tuesday I realized that I hadn’t purchased anything for the kids’ Easter baskets.  Eeekkk!  Fortunately, Tuesday was my day off and I was able to go and get it all done in one stop.  Gotta love Walmart!!

Now, Easter Eve is here and I find myself reflecting on what Easter really means.  Not just to me, but to everyone.  It means EVERYTHING.  God became man and sacrificed Himself so we wouldn’t have to pay the price for our own selfishness. I read a great quote last week that has really stuck with me.  James MacDonald has written a Bible study called Gripped by the Greatness of God.  In it he says: God’s holiness demanded that sin be paid for and then His love compelled Him to pay the price Himself.”  That pretty much sums it up.  I can’t even wrap my mind around how a Holy God could lower Himself to become my abhorant sin.  That is what Jesus did.  He became sin, He hung that sin up on a cross, and He died. I cannot fathom that kind of LOVE.

Therefore, I will just bow my head and offer my thanks. And my life.  It is Yours, Lord.  All of my skills, my desires, my talents, they are Yours.  Tomorrow I will rise early, get dressed in bright clothing, and go celebrate with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ the victory over the grave!!  Amen.

 God bless!  Happy Easter!
